ATYPICAL DEPRESSION
- Younger age of onset
- More frequent, coexisting with panic disorder, substance-related problems, and somatic symptoms
- Mood reactivity (as compared to usual depression’s lack of response to positive events)
- Overeating
- Oversleeping
- Leaden paralysis
- Sensitivity to interpersonal rejection

MAJOR DEPRESSIVE DISORDER
- Depressed mood most of the day.
- Markedly diminished interest or pleasure in all, or almost all, activities most of the day, nearly every day.
- Significant weight loss when not dieting or weight gain, or decrease or increase in appetite nearly every day.
- A slowing down of thought and a reduction of physical movement.
- Fatigue or loss of energy nearly every day.
- Feelings of worthlessness or excessive or inappropriate guilt.
- Diminished ability to think or concentrate, or indecisiveness.
- Recurrent thoughts of death.

- Feeling sad .
- Loss of pleasure in activities once enjoyed.
- Changes in appetite.
- Trouble sleeping or sleeping too much.
- Loss of energy.
- Increase in purposeless physical activity .

- Difficulty thinking, concentrating, or making decisions.
- Thoughts of death.
- Crying for “no reason”.
- Lack of interest in the baby, not feeling bonded to the baby, or feeling very anxious about/around the baby
